Job Description

Great Lakes Skilled Trades, the regions fastest growing skilled trades staffing firm is seeking a Recruiter to join our team! This role supports our business development team by recruiting and hiring high quality, skilled tradespeople for commercial general contractors and subcontractors. You will thrive filling job positions by applying your knowledge of recruitment sources, your excellent communication skills, grit, and sound judgement to produce results. - Consult with hiring managers, craft detailed and compelling job descriptions, determine effective screening questions, and post requisitions
- Source, screen and recruit skilled talent by utilizing the ATS, job boards, postings, referrals, and attending events (travel percentage is 5% - 10%)
- Consults with candidates, finds out what drives them and guides candidates through the proposal and best fit hiring process
- Negotiates and prepares employment offers, execute background checks, initiates onboarding and provides an on-brand experience, and follows up to ensure success in closing candidates
- Process employment applications for completion and accuracy
- Verify industry credentials and experience to ensure job and client requirements are satisfied
- General office duties
- 6 months to 1 year of Skilled Trade, Construction, Technical, or Specialized Recruiting experience preferred
- Highly comfortable and efficient with calling candidates, networking and working referrals to generate a candidate pool and build relationships
- Respond to staffing needs with a sense of urgency and can-do attitude
- Proficient computer skills, including: Google G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, etc.
- Savvy with social media and using recruiting search tools
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills
- Experience using an applicant tracking system preferred
